What do you strive to have when you retire? And while money definatly isn’t everything, don’t say you won’t need money to be happy, because frankly unless you plan on being a walmart greeter until you die, you’re not going to be very happy living on the street when you can’t work anymore, and social security will be non existant for most of us.

I’d gotta say at least a couple hundred thousand to close to a million in the bank ought to do it. Who knows what the future is gonna hold w/ what the social security is going too.

I’m use to living on 150,000 a year.
So if I live hopefully a long time after I retire I would like to have 5 million in the bank. So I can continue to live the same and go see places.
